S-1LO:/ is a story about a forgotten automaton.

I first got the idea when I wrote a single chapter of Star Wars fanfiction as part of a creative community, but decided to expand it shortly after. It's now an entirely original project set in its own universe.

As of writing, S-1LO is published exclusively on Royal Road, but I plan to release it on Archive of Our Own (Ao3) and on this Neocities site in future. It’s being published in plaintext format at the moment, but I intend to incorporate visual/interactive elements further down the line.

The current plan is to publish a single chapter or collection of chapters approximately 1,500–2,500 words in size every Monday, but this might change in the future. I’ll occasionally post surprise chapters during the week depending on my own progress and whether or not their size would qualify them as their own weekly chapter.

Whilst I have a strong idea of what the structure and plotting will be, I can't give a definite answer on how large the webnovel will be by the time it finishes, or how long that’ll take. A very conservative estimate, putting it at the size of a large novella (around 50,000 words) and assuming I don’t miss any weeks for new chapters, would suggest it could take six months. In actuality, I can imagine it taking up to two years. It’s all guesswork at the moment, so take nothing as gospel.

S-1LO is and will always remain a freely accessible project. There might come a time where I make a paid Patreon with opportunities to read chapters in advance and have material input in the project, but I'm not going in with that expectation. As well, S-1LO is completely 'open source' (haha): I'm giving permission for anyone to make their own fan works and small-scale for-profit projects so long as credit is given. Is it likely someone will ever do that? No. But the sentiment's there, at least.
